Join Mickey Mouse for some classic farm work (and plenty of laughs!) in The Plowboy (1929)! Mickey is diligently plowing a field with his horse, Horace Horsecollar. Minnie Mouse arrives with her cow, Clarabelle Cow, and asks Mickey to milk her. As Mickey milks, the affectionate cow comically licks him, prompting Mickey to respond by rolling up its muzzle with its own tongue. After successfully milking the cow, Mickey presents Minnie with a full bucket of milk and forcefully tries to kiss her, only to be humorously knocked on the head with the bucket by Minnie! The rural antics continue when Horace the horse is stung by a bee, causing him to panic and gallop wildly, which breaks the plow. In a surprising finale, Mickey resorts to using a pig as a replacement plow to finish the job. This early Walt Disney cartoon is filled with synchronized gags and showcases the developing personalities of Mickey, Minnie, and Horace. Good news! This foundational Walt Disney cartoon has recently entered the Public Domain!
