Kinds of Pronoun Quiz 1 | Types of pronouns with common examples | Important quiz on pronouns

A pronoun is a word that is used instead of a noun or noun phrase. Pronouns refer to either a noun that has already been mentioned or to a noun that does not need to be named specifically in the sentence. Pronouns are words like she, you, him, them, this, and who, to name a few. Generally, people use the noun before they use the pronoun that refers to the noun. That’s because others might not know what the pronoun stands for if the noun isn’t used first. For example: entering a room and saying, “Where is it?” without first saying what it is will often cause confusion. A pronoun can act as a subject, direct object, indirect object, object of the preposition, and more and takes the place of any person, place, animal, or thing. So tea becomes it, Sarah becomes she, Jim becomes he, the team becomes they, and in a sentence, Sara drinks a cup of tea every morning could become she drinks a cup of it every morning.
