Daniel Andrews 'cannot detail' why he mentioned police or private security over ADF support in March

Daniel Andrews says he "cannot detail" why he mentioned the use of private security in the hotel quarantine scheme back in March over ADF support or police given he was allegedly unaware of who was responsible for ordering the use of security. “I think it is important, though, to acknowledge that just half a sentence later I made it very, very clear that these matters had not been settled and it was not until the next day that I came out and then made announcements about what had happened," the Victorian Premier said. The Premier said it was "appropriate" Health Minister Jenny Mikakos resigned, citing her statement itself as the reason it was the correct course of action. "I don't think I've had a conversation with her this week. I've been very, very careful not to be engaging in conversations with people who I thought would be appearing in the inquiry," he said.
