Hello everybody! This walkthrough will show you how to get 100% in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Switch with Funky Kong. All Funky Kong does is make it easier, and plus he's new in the Switch version of the game. In this video, I show you how to 100% in World six, Donkey Kong Island. Here's my thoughts on this section of the game: This whole world is just SO reminiscent of Returns, the design of the island, the background secrets, how almost every level represents a world, etc. This world is also very serious, but yet peaceful at the same time, and David Wise's music really helps with this. That is one of the reasons I much prefer Tropical Freeze over Returns. Level one's beginning is so chilling, seeing DK's house... wow. The level also sets up what the rest of the world will be like. Seashore War is also very chilling (its cold, get it?) and peaceful. And the music is again... wow. Aqueduct Assault is the one level I think of when I think of this world. It's kind of fun, I guess. But that 8-Bit DK at the end of level holding a Wii U GamePad… lol. Blurry Flurry is probably my least favorite Rocket Barrel level, and its fun, but it is SOOO difficult if going for all puzzle pieces at the same time. And I guess this is probably the "true" rocket barrel music for this game. Forest Folly is pretty average, but the music is good. Cliffside Slide is really fun and exciting. Frozen Frenzy's intro is really cool because that giant gear-thing is in Returns as well (I think). That level is pretty cool, but that secret exit is normally very hard because getting Cranky to the end is just so difficult. That music is pretty good though. Dynamite Dash is pretty cool, but there's not much to say about it. I don't like Icicle Arsenal that much, but the ending is pretty good. And for once, I actually dislike the music. Meltdown Mayhem is also really fun and also really memorable. And the final boss is kind of lame, just seems like any other boss. That ending cutscene is high quality, and the credits are some of my favorite credits ever. Very nice. Also the solid one new soundtrack in the game is for the ending half of the credits. Enough rambling; here's copy-paste stuff. In case you are curious, by 100%, I am going by the game's terms, and not by collecting everything. It is possible to achieve 200% by the game's terms, but that is quite difficult and tedious to accomplish. That requires beating every with only one heart (that gets incredibly difficult toward the end), collecting every puzzle piece (without having a guide while you are playing, which I do not, this is very hard to do in fewer than 3 run-throughs of the level), collecting every KONG letter in every level, and every remaining level in the game. For 100%, you just need every KONG letter (they are usually very easy to find and are in the path you would be taking naturally, unlike puzzle pieces), and beating every remaining level (not that difficult with Funky Kong, with Donkey Kong it is easier as long as you have another Kong with you). In this walkthrough, I go by the game's terms of 100%, just to reiterate. One remaining thing to clarify is that when playing with Funky Kong, the level is the exact same. So if you are playing with Donkey Kong, watching a guide with Funky Kong changes nothing. An yes, I realize a zillion other people have already done walkthroughs of the Switch game with Funky Kong, but it is an awesome game so I figured why not. Here's a little bit more about the game & original. The original Wii U version came out in early 2014. It was a fantastic platformer; one of the best ever made, and I'm not exaggerating. The only difference content-wise from the Switch version is that in the Switch version you can play as Funky Kong, in a basically easy-mode. From the one week I have played the Switch version, it seems absolutely fantastic, but not really any different from the Wii U version, except for the fact that you can play this game anywhere you want, which alone could make this game worth it. Funky Mode does literally nothing for me. But the normal game is fantastic, and handheld mode is like a dream. This game is totally worth $60. If you like platformers, get this game (or the Wii U version because it is 1/3 the cost).
