This video is our complete guide on how to download Forge and get it install in any Minecraft versions. From some of the oldest versions of Forge to those just released, the goal of this video is for you to start playing Minecraft with Forge mods. To get started, you will need to download Forge. There is a link above that will take you to our text guide where you can click the download button to go the official download page. On this page, select the version that you want and click the “Installer” button. This will take you to a page where you want to click the “Skip” button in the top right that appears after about 10 seconds. Forge will start downloading, and you may need to keep or save it depending on the browser you are using. From there, open up the file you downloaded with Java. If you don’t have Java, there is a link to get it in the description above. The Forge Installer will open. Just select “Install Client” and click “Ok”. Forge will now install. It’s that easy. To get mods though, you will need to download them. There are links to CurseForge and Modrinth above, and these are both trusted places to get Minecraft Forge mods. When downloading mods make sure they are for the correct mod loader and Minecraft version that you are playing. After the mods are downloaded, open the Minecraft Launcher and go to the “Installations” tab. There will be a Forge installation. Hover over this and click the folder icon that appears. This will open the .minecraft folder. In this folder, there will be a “mods” folder. Move any Forge mods you want to install into this mods folder. Now, just play Minecraft with your Forge installations and your mods will be active. If you run into issues, it may be because you are missing a dependency mod. These can be found on mod pages.
