Larkin High Girls Basketball: BELVIDERE NORTH GIRLS November 22 2025

Larkin came into this game with a 2-1 record. Larkin had never won three games in this tournament since they began participating in it. Larkin started quickly and led 7-0 at 4:04 of the first quarter. The Thunder rallied and took a 15-14 lead by 4:15 of the second quarter. Larkin tied it at 19 late in the second before North hit a three to lead 22-19 at the half. North increased their lead to 36-26 by 1:07 of the third and ended the third quarter leading 37-26. The Royals mounted a furious rally in the fourth quarter that led to them tying the game up at 44 going into overtime. Unfortunately, a glitch in the camera stopped me from getting the game between 4:00 left in the fourth until :30 were left in regulation so the rally to tie the game is largely missing. However, I did get the overtime. Larkin hit a three to take a 47-44 lead at 2:46 that it would not relinquish and the Royals held on to win it to improve to 3-1. Mia Carter led the way with 18 points; Yesenia Escobar with 14; MacKenzie Wembken with 8; and Kenira Johnson with 4.
