#shorts FULL SHOW:    • Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular - June 4, 2...   Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular opened at Disney's California Adventure on Jan. 16, 2003 and closed on January 11, 2016. This show was replaced by Frozen in 2016. Aladdin was one of my favorite things to see at DCA, and what made it a repeat see was that Genie made different jokes every time. I saw it one day, loved it, went back the next day, and it was different jokes! You don't see that in a Disney stage show. In the mythology of the show the Genie is considered to be timeless, he is not restricted to a particular time frame, so even though he is in old world Agrabah, he knows what's going on in our present times. Current events jokes are sprinkled through the dialogue.
