Margaret Colin's 'Foley Square' (see post in this series) didn't succeed, but it did live on...sort of. Producer Frank Abetemarco took an unproduced concept about a female private eye in New York, blended it with 'Foley Square', where Colin played an assistant D.A., and came up with 'Leg Work' (1987). Colin is a former D.A. who's trying to succeed as a P.I. She's also a cop's daughter, as is Margaret Colin, so some real-life was mixed in with the two fictional concepts. 'Leg Work', filmed in New York and better than its title, got little push from CBS, which buried it on Saturday night, and it was yanked with a few episodes left unaired. The lively keyboard theme is by multiple Grammy and Dove Award winner Michael Omartian. Upgraded: End credits added; the visuals are a bit hazy, but the theme gets an extended treatment in this unusually long credits sequence.
