In tonight's unemployment update question and answer, we'll be discussing the CA EDD request to upload income documents on PUA claims, confirming that many unemployment claims are pending longer than usual this morning and not switching to paid as quickly as they usually do. We'll also talk about if you should open a new claim or wait to see if there's another unemployment extension. The CA EDD sent out conflicting messages again to people that were at the end of their FED-ED claims, one that said an extension had been automatically filed and another that said to open a new claim because your benefit year had ended. We'll talk about possible time lines for Congress to pass more unemployment stimulus, how much the extra unemployment boost might be and if it will be retroactive once they finally do pass something.
