If you want your horizontal axis labels to be different to those specified in your spreadsheet data, there are a couple of options: 1) In the Select Data dialog box you can edit the X axis labels by typing in new values, or 2) In the Select Data dialog box you can specify a different range for your category labels If your horizontal category labels appear as a sequence of numbers (one through to x), then it is probably because Excel has interpreted your category labels as a series. This can also be resolved in the Select Data dialog box.
