Tulsa Homicide Unit solves 95% of cases in 2025

Last year, the Tulsa Police Department investigated 47 homicides. Our Homicide Unit solved all but two of them so far. We’ve spent the last several years with one of the highest homicide solve rates in the country. This is made possible thanks to the support from the community, the latest technology, and the hard work and dedication of our Detectives and Patrol Officers. We sat down with Homicide Lt. Watkins to take a look back at 2025 and break down the two remaining cases from the year his unit is working to solve. Homicide #41: On October 17th, 2025, around 11:15 p.m., Officers responded to a Shooting near 235 West 61st Place North. Officers found 30-year-old Trevon Evans lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses said a gunfight broke out at a large birthday party in the area. Officers found shell casings from several different types of guns nearby. Evans died from his injuries. Homicide #47: On December 12th, 2025, around 9 p.m., Officers responded to a Shooting at a home near 50th Street North and N. Boulder Ave. 35-year-old Marvin Arnett was walking into a house in the neighborhood when a drive-by shooting happened. Arnett was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.
