It is the first major game by Amanita Design that is not a point & click adventure. It was announced on 9 October 2018. The game was released on 10 July 2020 for Apple Arcade. Protagonist sits in his Room located but suddenly the light stop working ground starts trembling. He then finds a hidden vent with a long ladder behind his room which brings him to a subterranean world with an old Mansion in the middle where he meets monsters called Creaks but also friendly Avians who help him on his Journey during which he explores the subterranean city. Protagonist also finds out that avians are terrorized by a huge Creak that moves around their city which was revealed to be a creation of the female avian who designed it to power their home and give their flora life but broke out of its wheel and started to terrorize them and destroy their city ever since. Protagonist eventually defeats the large Creak and saves the avians. He then returns to his Home on the ladder after one of the avians repaired it as a sign of gratitude for saving their lives and their home. When he gets into his Room he finds out that its already a clear Day. He lies into his Bed as credits start to roll while his mind wide awake and enlightened after the amazing adventure he had during the night. Creaks is a platform game that focuses on solving puzzles. The player controls a person who ventures through a subterranean world home to various monsters called Creaks. Creaks are inspired by phenomenon called Pareidolia. The player has to avoid these monsters and solve puzzles in order to advance through the game. Puzzles are based on work with light and logical thinking. Enemies usually turn into Furniture when on light. Player has to use this while solving Puzzles as enemy turned in Furniture can be used to get in otherwise unaccessble area. Also different types of enemies act differently. Shadow for example copies Players movement while Dog instantly attacks him. Player also comes across various Buttons and levers which are needed to solve Puzzles. Besides the main storyline player can also come across various paintings inspired by 18th and 19th Century aesthetics.
