The TOaG Quartet - "Home Away Part 2"

"The TOaG Quartet: Live at the Airship" is an 84-minute double album of all original music, recorded live in front of an audience at the premiere Airship Laboratories recording studio. Sparking the mind with truth, and moving the spirit with groove, our collective is one part working band and one part teaching ensemble. This tune, Home Away Part 2, represents the beginning for us in so many ways. As one of the first compositions I wrote during my time here in Oakland, it l seemed like the natural choice as an opening for the album. With its big open solo section, it also offered an opportunity for us to loosen up a bit as we settled into the vibe of the room - after all this was only the first tune of the first set.
