In this game, the player once again has to purify Shadow Pokémon. Like Colosseum, it takes place in the Orre region, and you again play as a boy who must rescue Pokémon from evil organizations. This time, however, you don't have a motorcycle like in the previous game, but a white scooter, which is further upgraded later in the game. Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness takes place five years after the events of Colosseum. The starter Pokémon in this adventure is Eevee, which can evolve into one of its five possible forms (Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon, Espeon, or Umbreon) during the course of the game. Unlike Pokémon Colosseum, the main Pokémon in this game is not Ho-Oh, but the Shadow Pokémon Lugia.
