BASE is one of the experiments at CERN's Antimatter Factory. The video fotage starts with an aerial (drone) view of the Antimatter Factory building seen from outside (00'01''); the flight continues inside over the experimental area with an overview of the Alfa and ASACUSA experiments (00'13''); finally the drone flies over the BASE experiment (00'19''), where spokesperson Stefan Ulmer can be seen (00'25'') inserting a Nitrogen level metre inside BASE's cryostat. This probe is used to measure the level of Nitrogen in the vessel. BASE uses liquid Nitrogen and liquid Heliumto keep its penning trap cold, which is necessary to prevent its anti-protons to annihilate. On 18 October 2017, the BASE collaboration published, in Nature, a new measurement of the magnetic moment of the antiproton, with a precision exceeding that of the proton. This new result improves by a factor 350 the precision of the previous measurement and allows to compare matter and antimatter with an unprecedented accuracy.
