The National Student Financial Aid Scheme on Wednesday appeared before parliament's higher education portfolio committee following ugly scenes by university students. They were demanding that issues of historic student debt, accommodation and registration be addressed as a matter of urgency. NSFAS says it's now working with private accommodation service providers across SA, adding that 3 000 beds have been allocated for students this month alone.
