Mini-boss: Refleczer - 02:41 Bosses: Serges - 00:51 / Crystal Snail - 03:57 Picked one of the easier levels with one of the easier bosses to fight one of the most annoying X-Hunters. Serges is one of those bosses that relies on tricks to catch you off-guard and scare you into thinking he's much harder than he actually is. One of the tricks is learning when his shield raises-- it does once you press the attack button, but not when you release, which means charge shots are the best way to harm him. What makes this fight not nigh impossible is the simple fact that Serges' shield WILL NOT harm you, something to keep in mind. Serges is also very easy to put into a loop, most attacks that hits him will make him flinch and Serges always reacts by jumping and spraying projectiles and due to the way his shield works it's best to have a charge shot primed and ready for him to keep him in the said loop. Curiously the Silk Shot in this very level does a truckload of damage to Serges and can be better than the Sonic Slicer to deal with him. The spraying shot attack looks intimidating at first, but there's always a gap bigger than usual between the shots, you do need to be careful as Serges can jump many times in a row. Usually if Serges craps a mine on the arena the fight gets FUBAR'd since the time that it takes to get rid of the mine isn't enough to position myself to avoid the next spray of bullets from Serges. Also did you know Serges' cape at the start of the fight can hurt you? Because I now know. Also did you know that the lag in this fight can eat some of your controller inputs here? I do. Refleczer, the mini-boss, can be killed before it deploys its second drone which is good since that makes the fight nearly impossible to get through without taking damage. Crystal Snail is a funny boss to fight. He's probably the boss that taught me how to be proficient at dash shooting since his Crystal Hunter attack is easy to avoid with the dash. Dash shooting him while he counters with the Crystal Hunter is a very good idea and it's a fun little dance that, like I mentioned before, teaches you how to be quick and fast with dash shooting or at least dashing in general to avoid getting encased by the Crystal Hunter. Other than that Snail has an annoying shell bash attack that he takes a random amount of time to move towards you and sometimes he moves into some other position for no good freaking reason other than throw you off. The time slow attack isn't too bad once you learn how to position yourself preemptively to avoid getting a faceful of snail shell. And I think I should stop writing freaking essays in these videos.
