In this segment, Mono explores The Nome's Attic DLC add on expansion content (without prior unlocking) inside the Hunter's cabin via a trick (bug, glitch). This access point is different than the one found in the demo, as that particular method was patched in the release version. Intro - 00:00 Session Contents: No Separate Purchase (PS4/PS5) - 00:10 At the time of this recording, The Nome's Attic add-on content is unavailable as a separate purchase for PlayStation players. It may only be unlocked via a purchase of the deluxe version of the game, which includes additional artwork and soundtrack. However, the content can be alternately accessed (without wearable hat) via a special trick. Default Sequence (No Access) - 00:46 This is the default upstairs sequence without access to The Nome's Attic. Alternate Access (Trick) - 01:55 Start the chapter and get to the area with the bear traps. Climb up the planks on the tree trunk and let the first plank fall onto the traps below. Then select "Restart from Checkpoint" in the pause menu. Mono will respawn. Jump again toward the first plank and hold the controller's left thumbstick forward. Don't use grab at all on the planks since Mono will be automatically jettisoned up into the air at a fast rate and travel "out of bounds." This is, in effect, a glitch. Once the background (with trees) is no longer visible, release holding forward and begin holding both controller thumbsticks in the "up" position, instead. (Experiment with the thumbsticks to determine how long to hold them in position.) You should see Mono plummet back down and go off the bottom of the screen. Once the background (with trees) is visible again, press the pause menu, count to six quickly, then release. Rinse and repeat this method to slow Mono's descent. (This step is important to give the game enough time to render the backgrounds—to get back in bounds.) When you see the background start filling in with objects (trees, roofs, etc.), stop selecting the pause/count. When executed correctly, though, Mono can be repositioned inside the attic. Even though the attic (and its two rooms) can be explored via this method, the Nomes' Hat won't unlock as a wearable reward for completing the segment. That particular hat can only be selected and worn via a proper Nome's Attic downloadable access code. Note: At first, it's difficult to learn the timing for this trick and will require several tries to implement. You'll likely end up falling through the environment for a fail or even into other areas of the wilderness. When this happens, just "Restart from Checkpoint" and practice again. Intended Route - 03:33 When the dresser drawer is opened, a Nome pops out and scurries off to the left and into the room where the crank is obtained. Against the far wall, the cabinet will be in an opened state with climbable shelves. From the top, jump up to the hatch and climb inside to the attic. The Nome's Attic (Room 1) - 04:11 (Nome hiding spots): Suitcase Box (throw object at it) Drawer Chair Cushion (jump up and down) The Nome's Attic (Room 2) - 05:10 (Lead Nome to unlock cage) Pull stack toward Nome and it jumps on. Push stack toward other side and Nome jumps off. Pull wall lever to turn on lights. Go back into previous room, pull out dresser drawer, and and climb up. Travel across the furniture obstacle course (floorboards) to collect the Nome's Hat. Climb up the wall planks and down into the void to get back to the second floor.
