New Jersey Cop, 1 Other Die After Wrong-way Crash Into Tractor-trailer on West Shore Expressway

A New Jersey cop and a second man headed home from a Staten Island strip club died in a horrific wrong-way wreck Friday when their car plowed into a tractor-trailer on the southbound side of the West Shore Expressway. The northbound Civic was shredded by the impact of the 4:51 a.m. collision, its front end left torn and twisted and its roof sheared completely off. The four men were apparently returning from a party at Curves, a “gentleman’s club” in New Jersey featuring topless dancers, police said. The second trucker had no time to avoid the doomed Civic, and cops said it remained unclear why the vehicle was driving in the wrong lanes. The driver, one of the dead men and the surviving passenger were all off-duty members of the Linden police.
