In 2017, Australia commemorated the centenary of one of the last cavalry charges in history. Unlike Galipolli, this raid by the Australian Light Horse on the Turkish soldiers in Beersheba, was successful, but at a great cost to both humans and horses. It is an amazing tale of bravery and desperation, and one that should be told. There were many attacks and counter-attacks during this period on both sides, and this programme (hopefully) presents some of the more influential events that inevitably changed the course of World War I.
