September 27, 2023 Bearing Witness to God's Grace 1st Reading - Ezra 9:5-9 Gospel - Luke 9:1-6 In today's readings, we are called to bear witness to God's grace and reflect on the profound impact of His presence in our lives. In the book of Ezra, we see the prophet Ezra humbling himself before God, acknowledging the sins of the people, and seeking divine mercy. His humility and repentance demonstrate the transformative power of God's grace when we turn our hearts back to Him. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus sends out His disciples to proclaim the kingdom of God and heal the sick. Their mission is a tangible demonstration of God's grace at work in the world. They are called to rely on God's providence, trusting that wherever they go, His grace will accompany them. These readings prompt us to examine our own lives and consider how we can bear witness to God's grace. Are we humble enough to acknowledge our shortcomings and seek His forgiveness? Are we willing to step out in faith, trusting in His grace to sustain us as we serve others and proclaim His kingdom? Today, I will practice humility by acknowledging my need for God's grace and forgiveness. I will also actively seek opportunities to share God's grace with others, whether through acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or prayers for those in need. Just as Ezra and the disciples bore witness to God's grace in their time, I commit to doing the same in my life, trusting that His grace is sufficient for every task and challenge.
