Tomlin Sentenced to 5 years for Baby Killing- Lance Wheeler Video

By Roger Hannigan Gilson Columbia-Greene Media HUDSON — Tara Tomlin was sentenced to five years in prison in Columbia County Court on Wednesday afternoon. Tomlin gave birth in the bathroom of the Bell’s Pond Xtra Mart in Livingston where she was working Thanksgiving night 2015. She placed the newborn in a plastic bag and threw the bag in a trash bin behind the store. The child died from asphyxiation, police later said. Tomlin pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter Sept. 30 after the charge was reduced by police from second-degree murder. Five years is the minimum sentence for the charge of first-degree manslaughter.
