Learn how to reduce & reverse arterial plaque: https://care.prevmedhealth.com/How-To.... -- ABOUT THIS VIDEO: Heart attack and stroke have many causes and risk factors, ranging from lifestyle, obesity, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, inflammation, dental infections, stress, etc. Which of these is the real cause? Maybe it's a common factor, like the mitochondria and cellular respiration. The reality is that we do not know. Cellular respiration and the mitochondria theory can be helpful in terms of both research questions and lifestyle, treatment issues. The functional item is what comes of the knowledge. What can we do to prevent or reverse early disease? For example, we know that there are many things we can do to decrease disease: a proper diet, exercise, and specific medications when indicated. There are a couple of examples: ACE inhibitibors and insulin resistance. We know that ACE inhibitors and ARBs improve insulin resistance. ACE inhibitors improve inflammation as well, so we recommend those when the patient tolerates them. Beta blockers have been shown to improve life expectancy post cardiovascular event. But one thing we often don't think about is the fact that so much cardiovascular risk is driven by insulin resistance ( est 70%). If that's the case, should we consider beta blockers that have a positive impact on diabetes? I think so. But this is often ignored in the hurried medical practice.
