Tulsi leaves are a part of in the worship of Vishnu and his avataras such as rama, krishna etc. It is also favoured by Hanuman and it is worshipped as avatara of Lakshmi. Traditionally, tulsi is planted in the centre of the courtyard in all the Hindu houses and is also grown nearby the temple houshold. Tulsi is cultivated for religious and traditional medicine in Ayurveda. Holy Basil leaves are green and its flowers are purplish in color. The devotees worship the holy basil plant.
