Trio 64 VLB vs PCI

We can probably all guess at which interface is going to be faster, but by how much? I was actually surprised at two of the results. The tests were done for a Vogons user and I figured I may as well make a short video out of it. Otherwise, this is pretty self-explanatory and past the 19-minute marker I'm just rambling into the camera. I might have to further investigate why PC Player and Quake yield identical results on both cards, perhaps playing with the BUS speed would shed more light on this? I suspect something else in this system is causing that strangeness anyway, it is also interesting how close the PC Player score was to the Quake frame-rate. It is entirely possible that something else somewhere, perhaps the CPU or the memory BUS 32-Bit on the 486 simply isn't fast enough for the program to perform any better as I can't imagine more than a few 10s of MB/s are available there. I have another video coming up, but it's a simple one and I don't appear in it. The benchmark suite was written because I was bored some time ago and I recently figured out an issue I was having with it so resumed work. Collectively, two hours later, it seems to run but on one machine text output is occasionally redirected to PRN when running Landmark... I have no idea why. If this happens, restart the computer and if anything else goes wrong let me know. There are two versions; https://www.mediafire.com/?z25alkfpnf... MS-DOS Installer - Useful for burning to a CD or something as you can run the installer on a DOS system. You will need a new machine to open the 7Z file though as the installer is made up of three files. I have no idea who wrote the installer or where it is from, I've been using it for years and suspect the author doesn't care. https://www.mediafire.com/?ii8qs1i7wh... ZIP Version - Contains the suite without an installer. Extract it to a directory on the DOS machine you want to test out. Approx 8 hours to upload. This is getting stupid, the chances of 8 hours up-time on this connection are slim so I might have to make slight cuts to quality in the future as this is getting hard to manage and can end up costing me a lot of money. If you want the status on the move: Council are still dragging their ass and as I walked into the building to do some work yesterday I was met with a strong smell of gas, implying the supply is dodgy because the gas is off at the meter. I am not amused by this as i'm rather terrified of gas to start with, the last thing I want is a leak I can't isolate. The symbols not allowed in descriptions now are getting ridiculous. Wonder if they'll make ALL CAPS MANDATORY IN FUTURE TOO AS WELL? WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO DO? SAVE ON RUBBER DOME WEAR OR SOMETHING?
