The ancient Chinese capital Xi'an has just wrapped up hosting the first China-Central Asia Summit. Leaders of China and Central Asian states – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – exchanged views on how to strengthen cooperation in the new era. What milestone has the summit achieved? What do closer China-Central Asia relations mean for the region and beyond?
