Nonverbal (Nonspeaking) Autism at age 12 ... And Thriving!

My son Cooper was diagnosed with severe nonverbal autism at age three. At age 5, he has absolutely no words or approximations. At age 6, we were told by a doctor to prepare for a life without words. At age 8, he said his first word. And here he is today at age 12. Cooper still has the same diagnosis of nonverbal/nonspeaking autism and Apraxia.
