New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian says there can be no "assurances" that what has taken place in Sydney's Northern Beaches won't happen again. "I can't make any assurances that this won't happen again," Ms Berejiklian said during a press conference on Sunday. It comes as patient zero from the Avalon COVID-19 cluster has still yet to be identified, with ongoing investigations continuing to take place. "This is a very contagious disease," Ms Berejiklian said. "And I don't think any government in any place on the planet can give an assurance that outbreaks won't occur. "In fact, I think I've said consistently, we should expect outbreaks," she said. "When you're welcoming back thousands of Australians back home every week ... you're going to have to anticipate there will be outbreaks".
