In this part, Mia Fey prepares for her first trial. Her client is a death row inmate, who is accused of escaping from jail and killing the police officer whose testimony first landed him in jail. Mia's co-council, Diego Armando, does not seem to be very helpful. The prosecutor is Miles Edgeworth, a smarmy young kid with a condescending attitude. Detective Gumshoe is called to the courtroom to testify about the basic details of the crime scene.
