Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan charged with terrorism, supporters gather to block his arrest

Dozens of Khan supporters gathered outside his home, vowing to prevent his arrest. The charges were based on a speech Khan gave during a public rally in the capital Islamabad on August 20, in which he threatened to sue police officers and a judge over torture his close aide allegedly suffered. The political aide Shahbaz Gill faces sedition charges after urging soldiers and officers on a private television channel to refuse to obey what he called “illegal orders” from the military.
