Ingredients For the batter 1 cup Bengal gram 1/6 tsp. carom seeds ¼ tsp. turmeric powder ¼ tsp. baking powder Salt to taste 1 tsp. oil 16 chillies, big ones oil for frying For the chutney 2 tbs. amchur powder 3 tbs. sesame seeds 3 tbs. groundnuts 3 tbs. dry coconut, grated 1 tsp. jaggery 1 tsp. cashew nut powder 1 tbs. mint leaves 1 tbs. coriander leaves Salt to taste Method For the chutney, roast groundnuts, coconut and sesame seeds. To the Bengal gram, add turmeric powder, carom seeds, baking powder, salt, oil and make a thick batter adding little water and set aside. To reduce the tang of green chilies, soak in juice of lime for 5 minutes, wash and wipe dry. Slit the green chilies and deseed them. Fill in the chutney, dip in Bengal gram batter and deep fry. Serve hot.
