Thank you and enjoy! Also, LISTEN TO LOCAL OFFICIALS, They know better than I do about preparations! Tropical Storm Lee has rapidly intensified in the Main Development Region of the Atlantic Ocean! It currently has winds of 75 MPH and a pressure of 991 mb. The current track is WNW at 14 MPH based on satellite imagery and an anticyclonic High near the Antilles. It currently is forecast by the NHC to become a Category 4 Hurricane with winds of 150 MPH at Day 5, however, they have stated that they were being conservative and this could become a Cat 5! The Lesser Antilles are now in the line of fire due to that westward movement since last night. Will keep you updated. We are now looking at several tropical waves that have recently peaked my interest and the conditions surrounding them. Right now, the waters are the warmest they have ever been and the Ocean Heat Content has been absolutely insane. On the southern tip of Florida, at the Everglades National Park, a temperature reading of 100.2° was recorded! This is a US record for how warm the waters are in the Atlantic! Compared to July 2020, the OHC is much more expansive and will allow for much more fuel for tropical storms and hurricanes to form, especially in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico! NOAA just issued their new 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season forecast! They are calling for an active hurricane season, matching what everyone else has been saying! They expect 14-21 named storms, 6-10 hurricanes, and 2-5 major hurricanes! Colorado State University put out their latest prediction of the 2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season! It is now calling for an active season with 18+ named storms with 9 hurricanes and 4 major hurricanes! The Weather Channel recently updated their Hurricane Season forecast and are now calling for 20 named storms with 9 hurricanes and 5 major hurricanes! I will keep you updated!
