Mona Lisa - mobbed by tourists at the Louvre!

The Mona Lisa is well known for her enigmatic smile but it might be a leer these days as this great work by Leonardo da Vinci sits behind bullet proof glass and is snapped at by endless smartphones. Going to see the Mona Lisa at the Louvre in Paris is like joining a tourist scrum - it is packed with people and you can hardly see the painting. Blame the Da Vinci Code! But also the growing trend for tourists - off cruise ships for example - to storm a museum only to look at one famous object, tick it off their list, and then leave. I've seen this over and over. They miss amazing paintings and sculptures on the way in and out - totally focussed on just one thing.
