I created the box of the chest by simply gluing 1x6 pine boards together. Then i joined the sides and bottom with simple butt joints with screws and glue. The top was made by cutting 1.5" strips of 3/4" pine at 2.5" angles on each side of the board. I created a jig for the top glue up.
