At least 12 dead, 48 injured after truck driven into Christmas market in Berlin

A truck driven into a crowded Christmas market in Berlin has killed at least twelve people and injured 48... in what is being described as a "deliberate attack." The vehicle, with Polish license plates,... climbed the sidewalk at the busy market located at the foot of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The driver fled the scene but was later arrested. Multiple German media outlets are reporting that he's a refugee from Pakistan who came to Germany in February. A Polish passenger in the truck was found dead. Police say they are investigating whether it was a terror attack. A spokesperson for Chancellor Angela Merkel said Germany was mourning for the dead and hopes the injured recover. The county's president said it was an awful evening for Berlin and for Germany.
