Everyone wants a cinematic universe! Ever since Disney/Marvel proved that the MCU could print money with expansive multifilm franchises every movie has been looked at if it has "universe potential". Sometimes it's a great idea and works - how ever you feel about the MUC now, it was really cool for the first 3 phases.
