3 0 Cracked Block Repair Failure 11 19 18

This is a 3.0 engine that had a large crack in the side of the block. It was repaired by another shop in another town, and it never quit leaking. It wa brought to us after the other shop gave up and said they could not do anymore to get it to quit leaking. We just finished running a compression test and the compression was 160, 161,160 and 165. Perfect compression readings. We started and ran it. At that point, we rechecked the oil and found that it did not appear to have any internal cracks since the oil was clear and did not milk up as it would with an internally cracked block. We then pulled the manifold and this video is showing what we found. At this present time, it is going to take some time just to sand off the JB Weld just to get down to the block and original crack. At that time we will formulate the best direction to go with a repair. From what we are seeing, this repair never stood a chance to work correctly. Fiberglassing a cracked block just will not work!
