Android has a built-in PIP mode for apps that support it but even then, we can only adjust it to a certain size unless you enable this hidden feature first. ~~~~~ Hi! This update has brought in a lot of new features with the ability to adjust the size of Picture in Picture windows being a popular one. But what about everyone who is still on Android 11 or earlier? In today's video, I'll be showing you a hidden feature that allows us to adjust the PIP window in a similar way to Android 12. I'm still using Android 11 on my daily driver with my POCO F2 Pro running LineageOS 18.1. And while the folks behind the custom ROM are getting closer to an Android 12 release, I think this tip will be helpful to all those who are still running an official LineageOS build, like myself. #GooglePixel #SamsungGalaxy To begin here, we first need to enable Developer Mode. This is something I've covered extensively in previous videos so I won't detail how to do it here. Instead, I'll be including a link to one of those guides in the video description below. Now, look toward the bottom and enable the freeform toggle, and then restart your phone. Once rebooted, go to an application you would like to use in a PIP window. Now bring up the Recents page and tap the Freeform option. It should put the application into a window that can be moved around the screen. This will work with modern phones including the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 5, Pixel 4, and Pixel 3 phones. As well as Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S9 devices too.
