This session focuses on cutting edge techniques and approaches for detecting and characterizing pediatric brain tumors via a liquid biopsy approach. New findings demonstrate that mutations and other tumor characteristics can be detected in blood, urine, or cerebrospinal fluid, and research suggests this “liquid biopsy” approach could offer new ways to measure response to treatment. This approach could offer a safer and more effective way to guide precise treatments without the need for multiple surgeries, paving the way for better outcomes for children and adults with brain tumors.
