The United States company, Tactical Air Support (Tactical Air), has received a contract from the US Navy (US Navy) to modernize the F-5 aircraft. Maintenance of 22 F-5s and repair of 44 engines will be carried out by RUAG, a Swiss company as a subcontractor. This is a comprehensive F-5 jet modification program that includes cockpit and radar upgrades developed by Tactical Air Support. This F-5 fleet was acquired by the US Navy from the Swiss Air Force more than two years ago. RUAG itself has built a relationship with Tactical Air Support through ongoing exchanges over the past few years. Tactical Air is a civilian company that provides “Red Air” aircraft for tactical flight training and air force technical advisory services. The US Air Force, US Navy and US Marine Corps are users of the air combat training services offered by Tactical Air.
