(18 Mar 2019) Pakistani relatives and friends who lost their loved ones in the Friday mass killing inside two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand were gathering for prayers on Monday in Karachi. Fifty people were slain by a gunman at two mosques in what was New Zealand's deadliest shooting in modern history. 40-year-old Muhammad Sohiail Shahid was one of the victims. Shahid left two daughters and a widow. Pakistan's foreign ministry confirmed nine Pakistanis were killed in the Christchurch mosque attacks. They have been identified as: Zeeshan Raza, his father Ghulam Hussain and mother Karam Bibi, Sohiail Shahid, Syed Jahandad Ali, Syed Areeb Ahmed, Mahboob Haroon, Naeem Rashid and his son Talha Naeem. Muhammad Sohiail Shahid's elder brother said, "He left Pakistan in 2017 and he has two daughters, the eldest is Wajeha and the youngest Naira, both were very close to their father."
