Salem, Found Body 8 29 14 SNJ WC

Deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to the report of dead body in the 4800 Block of Nevada St NE. A citizen reported seeing the body off to the side of the road as they drove by and called the Sheriff's Office at approximately 6:15 p.m. Deputies and fire personnel arrived, verified there was a body and requested detectives as well as the Medical Examiner and Deputy District Attorney respond. This is normal procedure for these types of cases. At this time it is too early in the investigation to determine gender of the deceased or if they died of natural causes. Detectives will continue with this investigation a long with the State Medical Examiner which will be doing an autopsy next week sometime. We are not releasing any further details at this time.
