Back in 2020 Blackpool Pleasure Beach sold a limited amount of ICON ride models and in 2022 I managed to get my hands on one! Join me as I unbox this limited edition of Pleasure Beach ride merch! Costing £100 is this ride model really worth the price? well yes! All parts of the model are 3D printed this ICON model took 32 hours to print and 1.5 hours to manually build. The company who printed the model is Cross Coasters. In terms of ride merch Pleasure Beach are miles ahead than other parks with their unique ride parts, ride models among many other pieces of merch! Blackpool Pleasure Beach - www.blackpoolpleasurebeach.com ENSO: The UK’s first and only double-launch rollercoaster ICON is getting twisted this season with ENSŌ. In a first for Europe, ICON’s rear seats have been adapted so that riders can spin and twist freely during the ride’s thrilling duration. ICON’s exhilarating high-speed accelerations, electrifying twists and turns and heart-stopping interactions will all be turned up to a whole new level by ENSŌ. ENSŌ magnifies the thrills and creates a whole new experience for those who dare to get twisted. ENSŌ is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism meaning a circle, or sometimes, circle of togetherness. It is traditionally drawn using only one brushstroke as a meditative practice in letting go of the mind and allowing the body to create, as the singular brushstroke allows for no modifications. Like the symbol, it is named after, once you climb aboard the ride, clear your mind and allow your body to experience the intense, thrilling experiences of ENSŌ. ICON: ICON opened to the public on 25th May 2018, the UK’s first-ever double-launch rollercoaster offers guests to the park a unique and thrilling experience. ICON launches visitors on an exhilarating journey where they experience the same acceleration as a Formula 1 driver before twisting and turning at high speeds across the park, interacting with other rides. A second boost of speed then launch riders to heights of 88.5ft, with drops of up to 82ft, giving even the bravest of thrillseekers an unforgettable ride. ICON Ride Model: Overall this ride model is one of the best if not the best. compared to the other models this ICON model is bigger, higher quality, and highly detailed! The trains lap restraint even lifts up! You can even slide the train off the track! The wheel assembly is exactly like the real train alongside the lights and seats. The only negative to this ride model is the great pattern the ICON train has is not on this ride model, which is understandable as it would be hard to do that pattern on a 3D printed model. Rides At Pleasure Beach: The Big One: Changing the skyline of Blackpool forever, The BIG One was constructed in 1994 and designed by Ron Toomer and manufactured by Arrow Dynamics. Standing 235 ft above Blackpool Pleasure Beach, the iconic structure was the tallest, fastest and steepest steel rollercoaster in the world! The clunking sounds of the lift hill slowly build anticipation, until the release at the exhilarating first drop sending riders hurtling along the track, high above the park below. Grand National: Designed for those who like their thrills with a competitive edge, the Grand National is Europe’s only twin-track racing coaster. The two racing trains leave the station at the same time, on a track which is a Mobius loop, then it’s a race to the finish! Expect high speeds and high thrills, especially with its double-dip on the first drop. Revolution: Get ready for the rush of the Revolution. With its wicked acceleration, the train is launched out of the station and speeds straight for the gigantic loop. Just when you think it’s over you are launched backwards to relive the incredible g-force all over again! Infusion: Ride the world’s first looping coaster suspended over water at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Prepare for an exhilarating infusion of the elements, soar to amazing heights. Infusion is a whirlwind experience that will amaze and astound the senses. Big Dipper: A world-famous classic rollercoaster and pleasure beach icon! The ultimate woodie coaster! With five awesome drops and a host of twisting and banked turns the Big Dipper is a classic wooden rollercoaster suitable for all thrill-seekers.
