In the theatrical cut of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, we're dropped into an awkward silence before Palpatine probes Anakin about trusts and appoints the young Jedi as the chancellor's personal representative on the Jedi Council. In "Vengeance of the Dark Side," a modified extended edition of Revenge of the Sith, their conversation is extended to provide more context, make the dialogue flow more naturally, and widen the audience's understanding of the upcoming conflict between the Jedi and Darth Sidious.
