BLACK CHRISTMAS aka SILENT NIGHT, EVIL NIGHT (1974 Theatrical Trailer)

This is the theatrical trailer for the 1974 Canadian/American slasher feature "Black Christmas", which was also titled "Silent Night, Evil Night". Directed by Bob Clark, the man behind the "Porky's" movies, as well as the less menacing 1983 classic "A Christmas Story", this 1974 film gave birth to the slasher subgenre of horror movies some 14 years after the release of Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic "Psycho". While this is a Canadian movie, "Black Christmas" was the first slasher movie released in North America, predating its' later influences "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th" by several years. During the Christmas break at a local college, a group of sorority sisters receive a series of threatening phone calls, and are eventually stalked and murdered by an unseen deranged killer, The movie features performances by horror mainstay John Saxon ("A Nightmare on Elm Street"), Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea ("2001: A Space Odyssey") original SCTV troupe member Andrea Martin (who would star in the 2006 remake) and future Lois Lane Margot Kidder (the "Superman" movies)
