The Composer's Journey #BerlinComposersJourney This is my entry to the Orchestral Tools 2025 scoring competition. All instruments in this composition are from the Berlin Free Orchestra. My thoughts when writing this music: ———————————————— There is something very gentle, soft and feminine about the girl and I wanted to reflect this in the music. I wanted to create a beautiful melody like the girl. I wanted emotion and a slow build up but I wanted to keep it overall more subtle, not too sad and no grand transitions. 1. There is already a vague idea that is in her head from the start (viola), but it is not yet polished and she is searching for it. The bass is not fully formed and the melody is staccato. 2. The rhythm slowly manifests in the percussion and gets stronger once she is outside. The melody is about to form definitively once she comes closer to nature (the birds in the sky (violin plays high), the canoe in the river (violin plays low)). 3. At the end she knows how it has to sound - the composition only has to be written down now. :)
