The decision came during a special board meeting following a controversial decision made by a Sangamon County judge, which stops the enforcement of COVID-19 mitigations like masking and testing at some schools. Countless parents voiced their feelings about the mask mandate. They said it's unlawful and ineffective. Superintendent Gary DePatis said his main concern is to hear everyone out and to keep students safe.
