The 2019 season featured fifteen tropical storms, six hurricanes, and three major hurricanes, along with three subtropical storms and two tropical depressions. The strongest storm of the season was Hurricane Dorian, which operationally peaked with winds of 185mph, revised upwards to 190mph in Force Thirteen's reanalysis in November. Dorian killed at least 75, mostly in the Bahamas, which were struck by their strongest storm on record. 2019 featured many notable storms for differing reasons: Barry for its remarkably poor appearance for its Category 1 hurricane status, Humberto for its deceptive appearance both early and later on in its life, Imelda for its catastrophic flooding in Texas, Lorenzo for its intensity in the eastern Atlantic, and Pablo for its resilience so far northeast.
