St. Petersburg police officer shoots, kills man armed with gun, deputies say

An armed man is dead after a St. Petersburg police officer shot him, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said. It all started around 3:30 a.m. Monday at a home in the area of 20th Avenue North near 45th Street North. The sheriff's office said a woman called authorities to say her son, Cody Kylie, had gotten hold of her gun and was threatening her.
