Afghan sources say Taliban leader Mullah Omar is 'dead'

There are reports coming out of Afghanistan that Mullah Mohammed Omar, the leader of the Taliban, is dead. A spokesman for the Afghan government says it is investigating rumors in the Afghan and Pakistani media that Omar died around two years ago. The reports however have been dismissed by the Taliban as "baseless", with a spokesman claiming the leader is still "alive".
